Upcoming Electric Cars India 2026: Every EV Launching This Year

Mahindra's flagship electric SUV on the INGLO platform. Coupe-style, 5-seat, RWD or AWD. At 682 km MIDC certified range on the 79 kWh battery, this comfortably handles multiple Pune-Mumbai runs between charges. Currently being evaluated for commercial cab fleets. ADAS Level 2+, connected features, and a 12.3" driver display.

The XEV 9e is Mahindra's larger electric SUV — more spacious than the BE.6, with similar INGLO platform underpinnings. Three 16" screens, Harman Kardon audio, and ADAS Level 2+ make it the most premium Indian EV in this price band. Best positioned for premium outstation cab use.

MG Windsor's recliner rear seats and MPV-style comfort make it popular for outstation cab use. The 38 kWh battery covers a Pune-Mumbai city trip with range to spare. It's currently in GreenEVCabs' evaluation for city cab duty alongside the Kia Carens EV.

The most anticipated mid-segment EV in India. Built on the Suzuki-Toyota shared EV platform (shared with the Toyota Urban Cruiser EV). Maruti's wide service network makes this a strong candidate for high-mileage cab use. The 61 kWh AWD variant (expected ~500 km WLTP) could handle Pune-Mumbai corridor comfortably without a charge stop. Official launch expected at Bharat Mobility 2026 or a standalone event.

Platform-twin of the Maruti e Vitara. Toyota's version will be premium-positioned with slightly higher pricing. Toyota's strong corporate and fleet sales relationships could make this popular with cab companies looking for branded EV fleets. Comes with Toyota's legendary reliability reputation and service network.

Kia launched the Syros ICE in January 2026 and an EV variant is widely expected to follow. It shares underpinnings with the Hyundai Creta EV. If Kia positions it below the Carens EV, it could become a volume option for cab fleets. No official confirmation yet on specs — these are analyst estimates.

BYD's budget EV positioned below the Atto 3. Uses LFP Blade Battery chemistry (inherently safer than NMC, thermally stable, longer cycle life). In markets where it's launched (Europe, Southeast Asia), it competes with Hyundai Ioniq 5/6 on value. The 51.5 kWh long-range variant's 410 km WLTP range would be adequate for the Pune-Mumbai corridor on the long-range battery, though a top-up charge at CSMT or highway chargers may be needed in summer.

Skoda's electric compact SUV on VW Group's MEB+ platform. Already launched in Europe, Skoda Auto India has confirmed India plans. If the Elroq arrives in 2026 at the expected price point, it would slot between the Mahindra XEV 9e and more premium imports. The 77 kWh battery variant with 565 km WLTP range is particularly compelling for premium outstation travel.

The LimoGreen is VinFast's dedicated commercial EV — designed specifically for ride-hailing and cab fleets, not personal purchase. VinFast has been in discussions with fleet operators in India, but no firm launch timeline has been confirmed as of April 2026. Features a longer wheelbase for passenger comfort, reinforced floor for commercial-grade use, and fleet management integration. Interesting for the industry but not imminent.

Honda India has confirmed electric vehicle plans for the Indian market. An electric version of the Elevate SUV — Honda's bestselling India product — is widely expected. Honda's global EV push (e:Ny1, Prologue in other markets) suggests India-specific EV is a matter of when, not if. No official specs or timeline for India as of April 2026.

Renault's budget-positioned EV, based on the CMF-BEV platform used for the European Renault 5 E-Tech Electric. Targeted at urban mobility and potentially ride-hailing. Expected sub-₹12 lakh price point. City-only range (~200-250 km WLTP) makes it unsuitable for Pune-Mumbai outstation travel, but compelling for short-haul urban cab fleets in Pune city or Mumbai city.
