A ₹200 cleaning fee applies for all pet trips. This is stated upfront at booking — there are no surprise charges when you arrive. The base fare remains a flat ₹2,700 Pune to Mumbai, all tolls included.

The boot of the Kia Carens EV is large enough to comfortably fit a medium-sized pet crate. For very large crates or multiple pets, WhatsApp the dimensions when booking so we can confirm fit before your journey.

This is one of the most tangible differences between the Kia Carens EV and a conventional diesel cab — and it matters significantly for animals.

Quiet cabin: Dogs and cats are far more sensitive to sound than humans. The constant diesel engine noise and vibration in a conventional cab is a genuine stressor for animals. The EV cabin is nearly silent at highway speeds. Most pet owners travelling with us comment on how noticeably calm their dog or cat is compared to previous diesel cab experiences.

No exhaust smell: Pets notice exhaust fumes before humans do. A diesel engine cabin — however well ventilated — carries residual fumes that contribute to nausea and anxiety in animals. An electric cab produces zero exhaust.

Smooth ride: The expressway is generally smooth, but EVs have additional vibration dampening from the heavier battery floor. Less motion = less motion sickness for animals prone to carsickness.

Cats and small dogs — use a carrier or crate. Keep them secured, not loose in the cabin. A carrier on the seat next to you works well. Loose cats in a moving vehicle are stressed and create driver distraction.

Large dogs — bring a car seat cover or old sheet to protect the upholstery. Mention your dog's size and breed when booking. Large dogs can travel in the boot area or rear seat with a harness clip attached to the seat belt anchor.

Water and a bowl. The journey is approximately 3 hours. Bring a small collapsible bowl and 500ml of water. Don't assume you'll stop — plan for the full journey in the car.

Motion sickness medication. If your pet is prone to carsickness, speak to your vet beforehand. They can prescribe a mild anti-nausea medication for the journey. Don't experiment with human medication — always ask your vet.

Pee pads. For puppies, anxious dogs, or any pet that might have an accident — a couple of pee pads in the boot or under the carrier is simple insurance.

Cats should remain in their carrier throughout the journey — opening the carrier in a moving vehicle is stressful for the cat and distracting for the driver.

Dogs can travel in the boot area in a crate, or on the rear seat with a harness. If your dog is relaxed and well-behaved in cars, a rear seat with your company works well for a 3-hour trip.

If your pet needs a window cracked slightly — for air or to reduce motion sickness — the driver will accommodate this. The Kia Carens EV has rear windows that open partially. Mention your preference when you board.

If you're travelling to a Mumbai vet or animal hospital — for a specialist appointment, surgery, or emergency — mention this when booking. The driver can be asked to wait at the clinic if you need a return journey (arranged as a separate booking or waiting fare, discussed at the time).

The same flat ₹2,700 fare applies regardless of your destination type in Mumbai. Drop-off at a veterinary clinic, pet hospital, or specialist facility — no extra charge.

Moving to Mumbai permanently with your dog or cat? The Kia Carens EV boot is approximately 570L — a large hard-shell crate fits comfortably. If you're bringing significant luggage alongside the pet crate, WhatsApp the dimensions in advance so we can confirm fit and plan the load.

For relocation trips, most owners find it helpful to put familiar bedding and a toy in the crate to reduce anxiety during what is already a stressful day for the animal.

Bring a familiar toy or blanket from home. Scent is the primary calming signal for dogs and cats. A blanket that smells like home inside the carrier makes a significant difference — especially for cats, who are highly sensitive to environmental change.

Feed 2 hours before travel, not right before. A full stomach increases nausea risk on a moving vehicle. A light meal 2 hours before departure is the right balance — your pet isn't hungry, but they're not travelling on a full stomach either.

A short walk before departure. For dogs especially — a 10–15 minute walk before getting into the cab allows them to relieve themselves and burn off nervous energy. A tired dog is a calm dog on a 3-hour car journey.
